Since I'm finally headed back home this week, here's a list of all the things I've missed these past 4 months! Sometimes, NYC really can't beat the STL. (Only sometimes.)
10. Malls. I used to hate working at a mall, but what I hate more is having to go all over the city to do 10 errands, when I could have accomplished everything if we had malls here. I also miss walking around and window shopping indoors. Window shopping just doesn't work when it's snowing and your lungs are filled with polluted air from trucks passing by.

9. Living in a house. As much as I love my apartment, I miss having a backyard, a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, a couch...and you know, actual space to walk around. There just isn't enough space on this island for living like that for a reasonable price.
8. My car. I don't miss driving, just my car, which looks like it was specifically designed for me. The red Chevy Aveo hatchback is literally the perfect car for me, and I miss it so much! I don't miss driving though, I like being able to nap on the subways. I even like walking places since I get to admire my beautiful new city.
7. Normal sports fans. New York sports fans are weird and make me feel uncomfortable. If you assume they root for the wrong team, you'll be on their shit list forever. I miss my loyal, goodhearted Cardinals, Blues, and Rams fans. Also I don't care about their 50 teams from this city. 3 is enough for me.
6. The food. No one here knows what provel cheese, gooey butter cake, or pork steaks are. It's a pity and I feel sorry for them.
5. More specifically, toasted ravioli. No one even knows what I'm talking about here. It's so sad. Toasted ravioli is only the best Italian food known to man, and you can only get it correctly made in the Lou. And cheese-filled doesn't count, Southern Illinois.
4. Grocery prices. I swear my whole pay check basically goes to food. Milk is about $5 here, and bread around the same. And don't even get me started on the rising prices of Nutella here. For shame. Nothing is cheap here, but food is kind of a necessity so I'm forced to pay for it. Luckily I go up to the Harlem Aldi a lot and get my cheap groceries there. Thank God for Aldi!
3. Walmart. Even though I hate this company and everything it stands for, you can't beat their prices and being able to get nearly everything you need there all in one trip. Unfortunately, visiting home this time won't be like it was in college--I can't stock up on everything I need and bring it back with me.
2. Washer and dryer. I'm going to reiterate this--I REALLY wish I had them here. I have to send my laundry out, and I really don't like people touching my clothes. Since I'm a fashion designer, I know how everything should be taken care of, and this Chinese company doesn't always follow my instructions. Plus they've lost a bunch of matches of my socks, and they keep giving me some man's handkerchiefs.
1. My Dogs! (And my family and friends I guess). I've missed everyone so much, and I'm so excited to see them! But especially my dogs since they can't actually talk to me like all of you can. I can't believe I've lasted 4 months on my own here, but I'm so ready to have 6 glorious days spending time with everyone, and of course plenty of cuddle time with Marcus and Brandy.
See you in St. Louis my lovely followers!
