So far I can say my current internship is amazing. I am learning a lot but am in a much nicer environment. I get to do small projects, run a few errands, and am still enjoying a free lunch.
One of my favorite parts of the internship is that I get to go to expensive fabric stores to buy fabric, including Mood, the famous fabric store from Project Runway. Whenever I'm there, I usually see multiple people from Project Runway, and last week was no exception. In one visit there I saw 3 people, including one of my favorite designers from the show, Viktor Luna. I usually leave the designers alone, but I had to say hi to Viktor as he was walking towards me. He was super nice, and I made it clear that he was robbed from victory on Project Runway Allstars. I need to work on talking to celebrities though, since I'm going to be one soon--I got so star struck! Thank God Karl Lagerfeld wasn't there, I probably would have died on the spot.
That night took a turn for the worse, as I was trapped in a subway at Grand Central. It took me an hour and a half to get home, which is normally a 25 minute commute, and I ended up walking most of it (good exercise I guess?). All I have to say is they better be working 24/7 on this 2nd Avenue subway line, or we're going to have a problem. The 4-5-6 line isn't cutting it anymore.
Other than that, my life is pretty much the same. I've been missing home a lot and missing my friends. The next time I'm coming home is in June for my sis-mom's wedding, and I've decided to stay a week and a half this time. Plus Fall Out Boy is coming the next week, so can't really miss that.
Until next time, Upper East Siders!
xoxo,
Ms. Manhattan
