Everything is finally looking up on the job front. I've been there 10 weeks now--can't believe how fast the time flies! I finally understand my job and for the most part am on top of my responsibilities.
It may be a little sad, but I can tell you article numbers from zippers now just by looking at them. I can pick out a button for a jacket in less than 10 minutes, and I can sketch faster than I ever have before. I am really enjoying my job, and especially like that the people I'm working with are so great. I manage all of our amazing sample makers from China, and everyday I love getting to talk with them and hear about their lives in China. They even told me they knew I was from the Midwest because I am so nice--glad to see my home has a good reputation.
I think my boss is done putting me through tests, and can hopefully see that I'm doing my best and have a good handle on the job. I love getting to meet with trim vendors and look at hundreds and hundreds of buttons, zippers, braids, beads, snaps, etc. and order whatever I like! It's a really fun job, and I'm thankful everyday to have landed it.
Other than my job, I'm excited spring is finally here. It's time for a new beginning in my life, and it's starting with Saturday. I'll be attending an IRD alumni brunch for the closest Alpha Gam chapter to me, and I can't wait to meet some new sisters. More on that later to come :)
So for now, I am just looking forward to continue to learn and to do my time until my next big move. I'm just hoping this isn't the calm before the storm.
xoxo,
Ms.
