Hello Upper East Siders!
Haha I've just always wanted to say that. It's so hard to believe that when I walk out of my apartment I am in the Upper East Side of Manhattan; things I've dreamed about since I was 8! I'm just one step closer to becoming Blair Waldorf.
I am loving New York so much and have already learned so much in just 24 hours! The first thing I learned was flying into LaGuardia is freaking scary. Just until the last second it looks like you're about to land in the river. Definitely had a slight heart attack until I realized we were finally on land. I also learned that if you fly to the east coast, your flight will never be on time. Ever.
My roommate is fabulous, and I'm so happy to finally be in a city full of Jews. Everywhere I look I see my fellow people, it's a good change from the lack of diversity that is Carbondale. Plus it's nice that people here don't need to ask what Judaism is or if I still believe in Jesus.
In just one day I have had so many exciting things happen! I spotted my first celeb while walking out of my apartment, Mr. Tracy Morgan! Still mad I didn't snap a pic. I learned how to grocery shop in New York, which I'm excited to do because carrying all those groceries 15 blocks to the apartment will finally give me some upper body strength. Maybe one day I'll be able to do a real push up! (I can't really do a "girl push up" either though...baby steps.)
Tomorrow's goal is to master the subway...didn't get lost today on foot but I'm sure tomorrow I will have some funny tweets. Let's just hope I don't end up in New Jersey.
xoxo
